| Josh
is a student at Western Michigan University,
entering his final year of classes towards a degree in Aeronautical
Engineering. He currently works at the Breakaway Bikes bike
shop in
Kalamazoo
and is originally from
Traverse City
, Michigan. Josh also has a diverse background in other sports
including football, basketball, hockey, baseball, weightlifting and
wrestling.
In
2005, Josh became the first cyclist from Western Michigan University
to qualify for Collegiate Nationals. In May,
he spent the next three and a half months in Europe racing for the
Cycling
Center
in
Belgium. While
in Europe, he competed in over 50 races including Kermesse and UCI
races in
Belgium
and France.
Josh found the racing in Europe very very challenging but
learned quite a bit from the tactics employed by the Belgian and
French amateur peleton. Josh
also competed in a number or races with the
US
national team while in
Belgium
.
